The graphs below give information about computer ownership as a percentage of the population between 2002 and 2010, and by level of education for the years 2002 and 2010.
The bar charts illustrate the trend of computer owners in an eight year period and the division of the ownership by qualification on the two endpoints, 2002 and 2010.
Overall, it can be seen that the possession rose steadily each year. However, the variance in percentage for the 2002 and 2010 displays a jump when split up into groups of qualifications. Regarding the year by year trend, ownership gradually increased from roughly 58% to 76%. The bi-yearly difference remains a constant of almost 2% climb.
Looking into the qualifications, it is also a growing course of ownership with increasing qualifications. A staggering 95% and 90% of postgraduate and bachelor's degree holders, respectively, have computers in 2010, a roughly 30% increase from 8 years prior. This percentage is similar to the 85% of those who didn’t complete college. The smallest group of owners are the high school droppers at a mere 12%. However, as is the trend for all levels, there are 30% more in 2010, a similar escalation to the one that points to the number of school graduates.
