The line graph below gives information about the rates of unemployment between 1991 and 2005 in three different countries in Europe. The table shows the percentage of men and women in the workforce in these three countries.
The given charts present change in unemployment rates in three countries, namely Spain, Germany and Italy. The charts also show a further information regarding proportion of employment rate by gender.
Regarding unemployment rates, Spain experienced a rise, increasingly from roughly 13% to 18% over two-year period, which still remained the latter number until 1996, The figure for people who lacking work gradually decline to approximately 9% in 2005. The majority group of both genders attributed to employment in 1991 was 66.2% of men.
Undergoing a similar downward trend, there was a growth in the number of unemployed people in Italy from 8% to 12% in 1999, followed by tailing of to the initial 8% and remaining the same figure through the end of the period. Italy indicated the same pattern of employment rate to that of Germany, about 77% of hired workers were men which had a much greater than the figure for women.
In conclusion, three nations have the same pattern of demographic statistic involving employment rate, men were the main worker.
Spain saw a dramatic decline lower than starting point. Conversely, Germany went through a period of fluctuation between 4% and 10%, before hitting a much larger proportion and made up the upward trend. Although Italy experienced a rise till 1999, the figure in the end of period had no change.
