It is clear from the diagram that, there was an increasing trend over the period of 3 decades. In 1975, the number of visitors was just under 10 million. It was steadily raised and crossed 15 million tourists in 1985. At end of the period visitor numbers were peaked at 31 million in 2005. The sharpest rise was happened in 1995, almost 10 million increase as compared to the previous year.
The detailed view of the table reveals that, Australia received it's majority of tourists from Japan. There was a significant rise in the number of visitors, almost 6.8 million in 3 decades of time. South Korea also showed similar kind of trend and reached not so high as figures of 9.1 million in 2005 from 2.9 million in 1975. The volume of tourist from all the other countries like China, USA, Britain and Europe displayed a mere increase of 0.5 million, 0.8 million, 2 million and 2.4 million respectively.
In conclusion, it was evident from the data that Australia had been the favourite tourist destination for the travelers around the world supported by a steady steep growth in it's visitor numbers. In addition South Korean and Japanese tourists accounted for almost two third of the total tourists in Australia.
