The graph below compares the difference between the production and consumption of fossil fuels per day in China from 1982 to 2006.
Overall, there was an increased trend in both 2 factors consumption and production throughout the 24-years-period. In addition, it was seen that oil consumption increased significantly faster compared to the number in production over the period.
In beginning of the period, from 1982 to 1990, the 2 number of oil consumption and production started a nearly number,about 2 million of barrels. After 8 years, while the number of oil barrels produced remain steady, these number in consumption oil was roses to 3 million and also remain steady from the year 186 to 1990.
In the last half of the period, the number of oil barrels had been sold slightly climbed and ends up the period with 3,5 million in the year 2006. As an opposed, those number for the production dramatically increased to hit a peak at more than 6 million of barrels on a daily basis in 2006.
