The maps below show the centre of a small town called Islip as it is now, and plans for its development.
The maps illustrate Islip town centre now and its planned improvement.
Overall, it can be seen that the centre of this town will undergo significant changes and developments.
In Islip town centre, where it is based on the countryside area, there are a few infrastructure buildings such as independent shops, a school located in the south-west, a park situated in the east. Besides, several housings are established in the middle of this town with the main roads.
However, according to city development plans, there will have the broader range of social infrastructures and accommodations, which could trigger the town to become an urban city. The town of Islip is expected to be surrounded by a well-organised dual carriageway, and in the middle, there will be a road for pedestrians only with a few shops. Instead of several separated shops, a big shopping centre will be built. Aside from that, new constructions such as a bus station, a carpark and some new styles of houses will be constructed. Additionally, although there will be a park, its size of it would be smaller, while the size of the school is anticipated to be larger.
