The maps below show the village of Stokeford in 1930 and in 2010.
The maps compare the changes in Stokeford village between 1930 and 2010.
Overall, the village of Stokeford situated along the banks of River Stoke was transformed completely from agricultural to mainly residential and with the improvement of road networks. It is also noticeable that the bridge over the river remains as it is.
In the northwestern side of the village, shops were demolished to give way for the new road and housing units. The primary school at the centre was extended by adding two buildings. Similarly, the large house was also extended but converted as a retirement home. In addition, its front garden was replaced by houses along the new road.
The farmland from the centre that extends to the south was totally removed for the development of more houses that surrounds the new ring road and housing units along the main road. In the northeastern side of the village, it can be seen that the three houses and the farmland were removed for the construction of a new road that gives access to the eight new houses. The bridge over the River Stoke remained undeveloped.
