The maps show the change of Happy Valley Shopping Center from 1982 to 2012
The given maps illustrate the development that occurred in Happy Valley Shopping Center, over a three-decade period between 1982 and 2012. Overall, the Center was completely transformed into the more modern center, except for entertainment areas and restrooms that remained stable over the period.
In particular, when it comes to outside of the building, in the northwest, the Lake was demolished to make way for the construction of Furniture Retail, which expanded more space for the building. Besides, what stands out from the graph is that Parking lot was established in the southwest corner in the year 2012.
Meanwhile, in terms of the inside of the shopping mall, entertainment areas in the center and toilets in the southwest of the building were untouched with no change done to it. Additionally, to the west of the building, lobby area was established at the entrance. As can be seen, next to Furniture Retail, a coffee shop was knocked down in 2012.
Concerning the food store, situated in the north of the mall, was converted into sports and electronics stores. To the eastern of the shopping mall, three stores were removed and made way for the development of food store, themed restaurants and two empty rooms.
