Percentage of UK people who consumed the daily recommended

The bar graph gives information about the proportion of UK residents who take in a great deal of fruit and vegetables on a daily basis based on suggestions in three years 2002, 2006, and 2010.

As can be seen from the graph, it is apparent that there was a downward trend in consuming fresh fruit and vegetables among males, females, and children throughout the mentioned period. Noticeably, among the three surveyed target audiences, women’s consumption fruit and vegetables were far higher than the two remaining groups.

In 2002, the percentage of the recommended amount of fruit and vegetables everyday that the British of both genders, namely male and female, consumed was nearly the same. Regarding men, this gender consumed over a fifth, while the proportion of women consumption was roughly 25%. In the next 4 years, both sexes witnessed a dramatical increase, which shared the same pattern ratio growth by approximately 10%. Both female and male consumption of fruit and vegetables reached the highest point with roughly 32% for the former and 27% for the latter. In 2010, there was a sharp decrease in the consumption of the two genders, falling around 7% for each.

In terms of children’s daily consumption of fruit and vegetables was much lower than the other groups, accounting for just over one in ten in 2002. 4 years later, this percentage experienced a rapid rise to nearly 16% before dropping by 2% in 2010.
