The pie chart illustrates the proportions of the coffee production, consumption and the percentage of the profits which countries gain in coffee.
In general, what stands out from the graph is that production in South America makes up the highest proportion. It is also clear to see that the amount of money which Japan gains accounts for the lowest income when compared to 3 countries.
About the coffee production, the proportion of coffee which Oceania produced is the lowest, with only 2%. In the meanwhile, the figures for Africa, Asia and Central America are nearly the same, at 19%, 18% and 17% respectively. When it comes to the consumption of coffee, the percentage of shippers who drink coffee occupies 55%, which is at least 5 times more than that of producers, at one in ten.
Europe represents the highest percentage of coffee’s profits, with 55%. 27% is the figure for the others which gain money from coffee. By contrast, the figures for Japan and North America constitute only 7% and 11% corresponding.
