Overall, it is evident that europe is a region where most of the land had been degraded. However, the biggest cause of land degradation was deforestation whereas, North America had the lowest percentage of land degraded.
It can be seen that overgrazing was the major cause of the entire global's degradation because 35% of land had been spoiled just because of it. Moreover, many trees were cut down and it led to deforestation as 30% of total land had degraded due to this reason. Furthermore, 28% of land was being degraded because of over-cultivation. People had grown varioud crops above from the limit. In addition to this, 7% land became degraded due to other reasons.
As far as trend was concerned, 5% of total land of North America was degraded in which 0.2% of land degradation had been done due to deforestation and 3.3 and 1.5% of land became degraded due to over-cultivation and over grazing respectively while total of23% land of europe region was degraded due to the following reasons with the percentage: 9.8, 7.7 and 5.5.
