The pie chart illustrates, the lower rate of farm production by the effect of over grazing, excessive cultivation, deforestation and other. While the table demonstrates, the percentage of degradation in North America, Europe and Oceania by such reasons.
Overall, it is clear from the chart, the most significant cause of degradation was over grazing and the least causative factor was other reasons. However, Europe was the noticeable region which affect the degradation predominantly among the other region.
As is observed in the pie chart, the highest amount of worldwide land degradation caused by over grazing with 35%. The second reason was by deforestation which is about 30% globally. Similarly, over cultivation and other factors consist of about 28% and 7% respectively.
In 1990, 23% of total land deterioration happened in Europe which is about 9.8% (deforestation), 7.7% (over cultivation) and 5.5% ( over grazing). In turns of Oceania, the main factor was over grazing which is about 11.3% out of 13%. Whilst, in North America, account for least amount of land degradation and over cultivation was the top with 3.3% in total of 5%. Moreover, no more land degraded by over cultivation in Oceania.
