The pie charts compare 2 different nations in terms of spending money on consumer households in 5 categories in 2010.

Overall, both countries had differences in expending for necessary things in daily routines. It could be clearly seen that the Japanese paid money most for goods and services (29%) of the total. While living place is the top priority of Malaysian. Particularly, housing accounted for 34% - the highest percentage among the categories shown. The second percentage of expenditure in Japan was food at 24%, compared with 27% in Malaysia. In Japan, the third proportion of expenditure was housing ( 21%), but the third percentage in Malaysia was other goods and services at 26%. Transport came in fourth place in Japan, accounting for a fifth, while in Malaysia the actual percentage was higher at one in ten.

Noticeably, health care which plays an integral part in human life is considered at least in both Japan and Malaysia at 6% and 3%, respectively.
