The pie charts below show the changes in annual spending by a particular UK school in 1981 and 1991.
The given pie charts give information about how yearly total spending by a particular school in the UK changed over a period of a decade starting from 1981 to 1991.
Overall, as can be seen from the pie charts, while an upward trend was seen in the proportion of annual spending by a particular UK school on insurance, teacher’s salaries, resources e.g books, the opposite was true for the figures for furniture and equipment and other workers’ salaries. In addition, teachers’ salaries had always been the criteria being spent most in this school over the given period.
In 1981, the rate of total school spending for teachers was the highest, at around two-fifths, while the figure for other workers’ salaries was significantly lower, at nearly 30%. At the same time, 30% of the total spending in this school was used for resources and furniture and equipment, 15% for each one. Additionally, the percentage of money spent on insurance accounted for only 2% of the total school spending.
In 1991, the proportion of total school spending for paying salaries for teachers remained the highest figure in the charts, at roughly half. There was a slight increase of 1% to 3% in the rate of total spending on insurance criteria in this school, while the figure for resources e.g books rose significantly to a fifth. By contrast, the percentage of other workers’ salaries and furniture and equipment in the total school spending witnessed remarkable declines of 6% and 10% to 22% and 5% respectively.
