The given graph shows the consumption of fast food in the UK (per week) from 1970 to 1990.
The given line graph illustrates the amount of fast food like hamburgers, fish & chips, and pizza consumed weekly by UK citizens over a period of two decades starting from 1970 to 1990.
Overall, as can be seen from the graph, it is clear that while an upward trend was seen in the consumption of fish & chips and hamburgers in the UK per week, the opposite was true for the figure for pizza. In addition, the amount of fish & chips consumed experienced the most noticeable change during the research period.
In 1973, the amount of pizza eaten weekly by the population in the UK was the highest, at about 300 grams, while the figures for fish & chips and pizza were significantly lower, at approximately 80 grams and 30 grams respectively. In 1985, the consumption of pizza per week rose dramatically and became the kind of fast food consumed most at roughly 300 grams. At the same time, there was a gradual increase in the figure for hamburgers, whereas the amount of pizza consumed weekly slightly declined to about 200 grams.
In 1990, the consumption of fish & chips per week in the UK rocketed by 200 grams to 500 grams and became the highest figure in the chart. Additionally, a dramatic climb of 180 grams to nearly 300 grams was seen in the figure for hamburger. Meanwhile, the amount of pizza eaten weekly by UK individuals slowly fell to about 210 grams.
