In general, there was an increase in film or music and books, with the former witnessing the most dramatic rise. In addition, travel and film made up the largest ratios of the total online sales in these years.
As is observed from the first pie chart, reaching a peak of 36%, highest online sales in 2003 in New Zealand were made in travel areas. However, a decade later, it saw a significant drop to 29%. similar change can be seen in the figure for the second major sector in 2003 - clothes, which also started at 24%, before ending the period at just 16%, the lowest percentage in 2013.
On the contrary, the figure for film and music was at 21%, followed by a considerable increase to 33% and successfully hit the highest portion of the overall sales in 2013. The figure for books saw a similar change when it increased 3% in the same duration, from 19% to 22% in 2003 and 2013, respectively.
