The pie charts below show units of electricity production by fuel source Australia and France in 1980 and 2000 Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant

The given pie charts show the total of electricity production measured by unit and divided by different sources in Australia and France in 1980 and 2000.
According to the chart, in 1980 and 2000, the proportion of fuel sources in Australia changes significantly. Coal is the most widely used source in both years, accounting for a half in 1980 and in 2000, the number has increased 80%. Similar to coal, hydro power has increased appreciably, from 20% in 1980 to 36% in 2000. However, after two decades, the ratio of oil and natural gas was reduced greatly to only 2% in 2000, compared to 10% and 20% in 1980.
In France, the division in use of fuel sources also has a big change. As a source that hasn’t been focused on in Australia, nuclear power seems to be more popular in this country, which gains 15% of the whole in 1980. This figure has raised up to 126% in 2000, becoming the major material in the electric industry. Coal and oil occupied approximately the same ratio (at one forth of the total) in 1980, then increased slightly to 25% for both in 2000. Natural gas and hydro power seem to disappear in 2000, with 2%, while in the last two decades, natural gas accounted for 25% and hydro power is 5%.
Overall, both countries witness a great change in the distribution of material in the electric industry. It is clear that Australia focuses on coal most while France has a tendency to consider nuclear power as a vital source in electric production.
