The given pie charts illustrate the average consumption of sodium, saturated fats and add sugar in four main meals in the United States, the over-consumption of which may have a detrimental effect on health.
In details, American dinner and lunch seem to concentrate more in sodium and saturated fats. 43% of sodium and 37% of fats is found in dinner dishes, which is a greatest percentage compared to other meals, while there is only more than a fifth of added sugar that dinner provides. Similar to dinner, in lunch, people consume sodium most, at 29%, second is fats at 26% and final is sugar at 16%.
Breakfast and snacks are considered as less suplement-supply, which is revealed by the noticeably fewer percentages in all pie charts. Added sugar, as a nutrition isn’t been focused in other meals, occupies nearly a half in snacks, but only 16% in breakfast. Sodium contained in both meals accounts for 14% each, whereas the former meal is richer in saturated fat than the latter one, with 21% and 16% respectively.
Overall, American intake a lot of sodium and saturated fats in dinner and lunch, which might be harmful for their health if they consume too much. Their lunches are less salty and fat, but they provide a great amount of added sugar, while breakfast is the least nutrition meal in a day.
