The graphs compare the estimated consumption of 4 types of food in the world and two different countries, namely China and India.
In general, it is clear that the proportion of food consumption of two countries was more different than the world average.
In particular, the percentage of processed food consumption in the world was highest, accounting for 41 percent, while that of vegetables and fruits consumption was 29 percent, and animal food consumption took up a quarter. However, the proportion of nuts and seeds consumption was just 4 percent.
Likewise, China used processed food was largest, with 39 percent. In addition, the figures for both vegetables and fruits, and nuts and seeds consumption of China stood at 32 percent and 19 percent respectively, which was larger than the world’s average proportion. In contrast, the percentage of animal food in China was the smallest, just 15 percent.
In India, the highest percentage was still processed food consumption, it is 39 percent. Meanwhile, a similar proportion of animal food and vegetables and fruits accounted for 27 percent and 23 percent, respectively.
