The bar chart gives information of the places where people gain access to the Internet between 1998 and 2004.
Overall, the proportion of users connecting to the Internet from home and library remained relatively constant from 1998 to 2004. Meanwhile, 2 other places had the number of users declined throughout the same period. Besides, home was the most commonly Internet access place.
The percentage of people access to the Internet from home were the highest of over 50% in 1998. By contrast, this rate of people who used Internet at library was the lowest of 10%. Approximately 27% of users connected to the Internet at work, compare to 20% at college.
The proportion of people gaining access to the Internet from home went down to about 45% in 2000 then steadily rose up to precisely 55% in 2004. Users connected to the Internet when they were at work remained relatively steady from 1998 to 2002 then fell sharply to about 10% in 2004. The figure of college was similar to those of work but it only dipped slightly from 20% in 2002 to about 18% in 2004. The data of library was pretty steady with slightly fluctuating in 8 years and reach over 12% in 2004.
