The plans given demonstrate a public park when it was first opened in 1920 and the condition of the same park today.
It is clear that the overall area of the park is the same as it was in 1920 with significant changes in certain aspects. The place where te Stage for musicians used to be is now Amphitheatre for concerts. There were also four separate seating places close to the stage which are not anymore. Furthermore, there were three rose gardens in 1920, whereas now there are two. One rose garden is at the centre of the park replacing the fountain and the other is at the corner of Arnold Avenue where it used to be. There are seating arrangements around the rose garden at the centre now. The other rose garden at the Arnold Avenue end of the park has been replaced by a café, beside which is the children’s play area where the pond for water plants was in 1920. A new water feature has been introduced at the place of the glasshouse. Also an underground car parking has been built at the right corner of the park where there were seats before, near the Elton Street.
