Some people say that the only reason for learning a foreign language is in order to travel to or work in a foreign country. Others say that these are not the only reasons why someone should learn a foreign language.
Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.
Nowadays, learning a new language has become increasingly popular. It is often a debatable issue across the globe that some people often believe that studying a foreign language aids solemnly for tourism and work purposes, whereas others feel that it has several benefits such as enhancing cognitive abilities and fostering a new culture. In my opinion, I completely agree with the latter choice and in this essay I will discuss both views along with proper conclusion.
To commence with, learning a second language can provide a happy path to any immigrants or travelers without any hindrances in communicating with local communities. In other words, speaking and understanding a native dialect can lessen the complexity in expressing the thoughts to people abroad. To illustrate, English has become the second most popular language among the nations, and is used as an ideal style to interact in international business meetings.
In contrast, starting the journey with non-native language can also enhance the cognitive skills among the individuals. This development can help a person to improve creativity and analytical thinking capability. For instance, a recent study stated that children who were bilingual witnessed a drastic improvement in reading, writing and speaking modules than normal children without any knowledge of other languages.
Furthermore, I firmly believe that the journey of foreign language is accompanied by it’s own culture. Moreover, this will facilitate people to widen their knowledge on various rituals and traditions among the nations.
To recapitulate, when it comes to language, people frequently divide their opinions, some state that acquaintance with other languages can help to migrate or work in different regions, whereas others agree that this learning can provide a lot of merits beyond travel or work.
