The table below gives information about rail transport in four countries in 2007.
A glance at the table provided reveals the information about transportation of people and freights using railway systems in four countries, namely Malaysia, Canada, China and UAE in 2007.
It is evident from the data provided that China had by far the highest number of people travelled with railway, at a staggering 27 million. Conversely, numbering 0.3 million, Canada saw the least popularity at taking railway amongst the four countries mentioned. Meanwhile, moderate level of passengers using railway as their transportation means was recorded in Malaysia and UAE, at somewhere between 5 and 6 million. Likewise, a similar pattern can be noticed in the average length travelled by people in the four countries. 1980 km was travelled by passengers in China, whereas in Canada, the figure was considerablely smaller at just 80km. Finally, less than 800 km was travelled in Malaysia and UAE.
As of freights transported using railway, the largest number at over 28 billion of tons was moved in Canada. In addition, the volume of goods carried in the rest of three countries was almost identical at about 22 billion of tons.
It is also interesting to note that while the most significant number of passengers travelled in China, Canada carried the most number of cargos.
