The table below shows employment patterns for males and females in New Zealand in 1993 and 2003

The table gives information about the ways men and women were gainfully employed in New Zealand in 1993 and 2003.

Overall, it is seen that out of the six given sectors, the females were more employed in three in the first year. The males were given more job opportunities in four economic sections in the second year.

In 1993, the recruitment process in New Zealand favoured more women in three departments. These sections were, services and transport, manufacturing, and social services. The number of employed female staff are 53, 25 and 13 respectively as against 22, 16 and 5 men in those sectors. Agriculture and business took more men than women. It is worthy to note that no woman was given an employment in the building sector in that year.

However, in 2003, a lot of the male gender got job offers than their female counterparts in four units out of the 6 that were given. The farming, trade, production and construction sectors were dominated by 8, 25, 17 and 10 men respectively, while 6, 22, 12 and 6 women reciprocally were employed alongside. The remaining two sectors which were services and transport, and social services engaged more females than males.
