Essay topics:

The table below shows information and predictions regarding the change in the percentage of the population aged 65 and above in three countries. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

The table illustrates the proportion of the elderly at the age of 65 or over in three different nations (Canada, Germany, and the UK) during a 40-year period.

It is clear that the percentage of citizens aged 65 or over in all three countries is predicted to increase during the research period. Noticeably, those people in Germany probably account for by far the highest figure by 2030.

In 1988, the percentage of the population aged 65 or plus in Germany took up the highest figure in the chart, at 20,35%, followed by Canada, at roughly 16,45%. Meanwhile, the figure for the UK was only 14,25% and twelve years later there was a slight rise to approximately 14,80%.

The year 2030 is projected to see a dramatic increase in the percentage of the 65-or-older population in Canada to 26,35%. At the same time, the same upward trends might be seen in the UK and Germany, with the figures are planned to go up to 20,45% and 30,65% respectively in 2030.
