The table below shows information and predictions regarding the change in percentage of the population aged 65 and above in three countries. (Actual Test in July 2020)
The table shows the proportion of people aged 65 and over in Canada, Germany, and the UK between 1988 and 2000, and the projections for 2030.
Overall, it is obvious that the percentage of the German population aged 65 and above was the highest over the period. Furthermore, the figure for those of 2000 in all the countries mentioned had experienced an upward trend and continued increase in 2030.
In 1988, the proportion of German citizens aged 65 and over was 20%, compared to 16% of Canadians and 14% of British residents. A similar pattern was observed in 2000 owing to the proportion of the population aged 65 and above in all three countries witnessing marginal growth. In particular, Germany's population rate reached the highest position at 25%, followed by Canada and the UK at 21% and 15%, respectively.
The predicted year 2030 was considered that the percentage of the German population expressed a gradual increase of 5%. The second highest, in Canada, was only lower than that in Germany 4%. At the same time, the proportion of people in the United Kingdom was consistently in last place.
