The table below shows information and predictions regarding the change in the percentage of the population aged 65 and above in three countries.
The given table details and forecasts the proportional change in the population of aged people( 65 and above) in mainly three countries: Canada, Germany, and the UK for three different periods 1988, 2000, and 2030.
Looking from the overall perspective, it is readily apparent that over time, the percentage of senior citizens has increased significantly and is expected to surge at a higher rate in the future. Although the population is rising as a whole, Germany is going to lead by the end of the period.
According to the given illustration, with more than 20% senior population, Germany topped the list exceeding Canada and UK by 4 and 6% respectively in 1988. Also, after a period of 12 years, Germany continued to be at the highest rank with 25.32%, higher by nearly 4%. Followed next by Canada, which jumped to 20.67% from 16.32% in 1988. However, Uk witnessed a slight uptick of .6% in the aged population.
In addition, three decades from now, it is predicted that the number will get soared in all the three countries. However, Germany will be ahead of the UK and Canada by nearly 10 to 4%. The former is projected to be at 20.35% as against 26.35% for the latter.
