The table below shows the percentage of the population by age groups in one town who rode bicycles in 2011.
The table illustrates the proportion of people in one town by age group using bicycles in 2011.
In general, the number of women cycling was higher than men. It was immuatably true that chidren from 0 to 9 years old were objects using bicycle the most.
In 2011, the percentage of female children under 9 years old riding bicycle was 51,3% while this number of young boys in the same age group was lower with 50,3%. Teenagers from 10 to 17 years old came in the second with the figure of females was 42,2% and the data of males was 24.6%.
It could be manifest from the table that the proportion of the population cycling decreased with age before increasing slightly at the age group of 60 and older. The percentage of middle-age people from 18 to 38 who chose bicycle as their preference was 17.1% with women and 9.7% with men. The data dropped slowly to reach the bottom of 12.3% and 8% for women and men between the age from 40 to 59. In contrast, the number of people over 60 years old using bicycle was 18.5% and 13.2% which was higher than that of previous younger age group of two sexes, respectively.
