The table below shows the percentages of the population by age groups in one town who rode bicycles in 2011.
The table displays the differences in the proportions of two distinct genders of inhabitants riding bicycles by age groups in a town in 2011.
It is noticeable that the youngest populations were the most prevalent bike users. Furthermore, female groups were recorded to cycle much more than their male counterparts did throughout the period given.
The proportions of bike users aged under 9 showed a similar pattern in both genders, at around 50%. Meanwhile, 42, 2% of female bike users was seen in the 10-17 aged group, which was twofold higher than that of male ones (at 24, 6%). In contrast, lower proportions of adult groups riding by cycles were recorded in
2011, with the figures for female 18-39 aged and 40-59 aged populations accounting for 17, 1% and 12, 3% respectively, compared to 9, 7% and 8, 0% for male ones in that order.
Such mere percentages were not seen when we compare the figures for the oldest generation who rode bikes in this town. Particularly, there was 10, 5% of female bike users in these ages, while the figure for males was 5, 3% lower, at 13, 2%.
