The table below shows the percentage of the population by age groups in one twon who rode bicycles in 2011
The table illustrates the proportion of man and women in different age groups who rode bicycles in a town in 2011.
Overall, the number of women riding bike always made up a larger proportion in the total of the town population. Another interesting point is that in both female and male group the percentage of children aged between 0-9 years old reached the highest figure.
Looking at details, in 2011, nearly half of the number of boy and girl at the age from 0 to 9 rode bike. While this figure remained high at the 10-17 years old girl group at 42.2%, the percentage of male at the same age halved to just 24.6%. meanwhile, the number of man and women riding bike at over 60 years old were similar, at 13.2% and 18,5% respectively.
By contrast, there were a big gap in the percentage of people cycling between two genders at the age groups from 18 to 59 years old. The number of female using bike aged 18-39 took up 17.1% of population which was as twice as higher compared to male’s data. This figure for age group from 40-50 continued to experience a fall to 12.1% and 8% in turn.
