The given table depicts the results of a 20-year research into reasons for joining arts events of British adults.
Overall, more and more cases of adults attending arts events to accompany children or for business while seeing artists and for celebration have become less popular reasons. Despite all changes, the desire to meet specific performers remains to be the impulse to participate in arts events for the duration.
With regard to seeing the artists, it took up the largest part of the voting 20 years ago with 58% but slightly declined to 55% 10 years later. Till now, it is reported that 56% of adults in Great Britain joined arts events for this reason. Likewise, there is a drastic drop in the percentage of adults taking part in arts events on special occasions, from 27% to 9%, making it the least common reason today.
On the other hand, the percentages of UK adults who go to arts events for business and as a chaperone to their kids both have seen a steady escalation in the given period, from 6% to 11% and from 9% to 24% respectively.
