The table below shows UK residents' visits abroad by country of visit from 2004 to 2008.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The table shows changes in the number of UK citizens going overseas based on the country visited over a half-decade between 2004 and 2008. It can be seen that the popularity of Egypt, India, and Poland rose dramatically across the period in contrast to Spain and USA, which dropped slightly from 2004 to 2008.

Poland, the least popular country in 2004, shows the biggest upward trend over the period. The visitors of Poland increased substantially around five times, from 304 to 1,578, in just over five years. Meanwhile, Egypt and India had a similar trend by having a significant increase about 300 visitors in the five-year period, from 345 to 664 and from 657 to 956 in turn.

Contrary to the upward trend, the popularity of Spain and USA met a slight fall from their original numbers after five years. Despite being the most popular country over the period, Spain only had an increase between 2005 and 2006, from 13,837 to 14,428, while in other years the numbers remained dropped and stopped at 13,819 in 2008. The USA, the second most popular country, followed similarly by having a decrease from 4,167 to 4,003 during the period.

Overall, the table indicates that Spain and USA is generally the most popular destination for UK citizens. However, the popularity of Poland will likely to increase in the future.
