The given table compares the percentage of national consumer expenditure on many items in five various nations in the year 2002.
Looking from an overall perspective, it can be readily apparent that the majority of expenditure is consumed on foods, drinks, or tobacco, whereas leisure or education is the least common thing expended.
According to the table, regarding foods, drinks, or tobacco, Turkey held the lion's share of consumer expenditure in 2002, roughly 32%. The second rank was Ireland, at 28.91%, followed by Italy, Spain, and Sweden with 16.36%, 18.80%, and 15.77% of national consumer spending, in turn. In terms of clothing or footwear, the proportion of expenditure consumed in Italy was 9%, which was half as much again as that of in Sweden, approximately 6%.
Looking at the table in more detail, national consumer spending on leisure or education is less than that of the two aforementioned things. In 2002, the proportion of national expenditure on leisure or education in Turkey was the highest figure, at 4.35%, which nearly doubled in comparison with the figure for Ireland, at 2.21%. The percentage of consumer spending in Italy and Sweden was equal, around 3.2%. Finally, the figure for national expenditure consumed in Spain was the smallest, at 1.98%.
