The given tables demonstrate purposes that people stop smoking and the time when smokers determine to give up.
At first glance, we can see that most people choose to give up smoking due to the fact that cigarettes can damage their health quickly, compared to the least chosen reason-present health problem. Moreover, almost all smokers tend to stop smoking in the next 6 months and the total percentage of smokers who want to give up smoking is high.
In the first table, the reason better for health in general accounts for 71% consists of 64% heavy smokers and 74% light smokers. In contrast, with the choice of the present health problems, the figure is approximately 6 times lower compared to the most chosen one, being the lowest chosen purpose. Nearly a fifth of people who smoke a lot gives up smoking because of their present health, while that of slight smokers only registered at 10%.
In the next table, there is a total of 35% smokers who tend to give up smoking in the next 6 months. Additionally, there are other choices such as next year or next month, which are 21% and 12%; respectively. However, despite the fact that a large proportion of people decide to give up smoking, a minority number keep moving on smoking, which includes 40% of heavy smokers.
