The value in US dollars (in millions of dollars) of investment in funds of four categories from 1988 to 2014
The graph illustrates the amount of money in US dollars of investment in funds of four categories namely company shares, fine art, gold and property, between 1988 and 2014.
Overview, it is apparent/ it is clear that the value of investment in funds of four categories witnessed an uptrend. By 2014, there are a widened considerably between four categories.
In 1988, gold had been recorded the largest allocation of funds, at 100 million dollars, followed by fine art with approximately 80 million dollars, while an equal amount of 50 million dollars was spent/ invested on company share and property .
Despite initial fluctuation, the figures for gold and fine art had seen upward trends throughout the given period. The increasing were particularly noticeable in the last 8 years, during which time gold investment peaked at 450 million dollars in 2012 before falling back to approximately 375 million dollars in 2014, while fund for fine art significantly rising from 100 million dollars in 2006 to nearly 350 million dollars in 2014.
Funds for two remaining categories grew a little bit until 1994. The amount of money invested for company shares then tripled in 1996 and rose sharply to 250 million dollars in 2014, while property recorded/ witnessed a substantial increase in fund from 2006 onwards, reaching approximately 150 million dollars by 2014.
