The graph below gives information from a 2008 report about consumption of energy in the USA since 1980 with projections until 2030.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The line graph provided reveals the data of energy usage in the USA during the period from 1980 to 2008 and the expectation consumption from 2008 to 2030.
It is evident that the energy created from fossil fuel like petrol and oil, coal and natural gas was used much more than the renewable energy like nuclear, solar/wind and hydropower.
Although there was a slight fluctuation, the amount of petrol and oil using was highest during the period 1980 to 2008. The consumption of this energy is expected to raise exponentially to approximately 50 quadrillion units in 2030. The usage of coal had a gradual growth between 1980 and 2008, from nearly 16 to 20 quadrillion units and the figure will constantly increase and reach a peak of 30 in 2030. The consumption of natural gas, however, was changed considerably from 1980 to 2008 and it is predicted to raise at some where of 25 quadrillion units in 2030.
In 1980, the use of alternative power like nuclear and solar/wind and hydropower was equal at 3. There was a slight rise in the consumption of nuclear while the usage of solar and hydropower remain unchanged until 2008. During the next period from 2008 to 2030, the usage of nuclear and solar/wind will follow a slight growth to 6 and 5 quadrillion units respectively while the consumption of hydropower will be unchanged.
