The chart shows the percentage of graduate unemployment by gender in an European country from 2008 to 2009 by quarter.
Firstly, generally speaking, unemployment dramatically increased among both gender in 2 years. In Jan’ 08, males without job were at 10 percent, whereas the females show about 7 percent. After a year in that period of year, both unemployment in both sexes marginally increased by about 2 percent. In terms of second and third quarters of 2008, both gender had the same unemployment rate. On contrast, unemployed males increased after a year (April’ 09 and July’ 09), while females percentage remained stable at 2 percent in the second quarter of 2009. However, in July’ 09, unemployed females was 10 percent, it was almost 5 times more than in that time in 2008.
Finally, last quarter of both years saw a dramatically increase in unemployment rate. While unemployed male were just over 15 percent, females were more than 10 percent. And in October’ 09, this proportion reached a peak; while unemployed females were under 15 percent, males that be out of work soared faster with more than 20 percent.
