Two pie charts compare the percentage of a university’s students in England who can speak second language except English between 2000 and 2010.
It is clear that the proportion of the number of students who able to speak Spanish only was the highest in both years while the figure for German was the lowest.
In 2000, 30% students were able to speak Spanish only as the second language which followed by the figure of no other language with 20%. The number of student who used only French and another language had the same percentage (15%) while the percentage of two other languages and German only was slightly lower at the same 10% for each.
After a decade, the percentage of Spanish was still highest with 35% which increased slightly. There was a significant decrease with the proportion of no other language to 10% which was identical with the figure for both French and German. Additionally, another language and two other languages figures both rose 5% to 20% and 15%, respectively.
