Hi Ahmad,
It's great to hear from you. I am so excited to see soon in Damascus. Anyway, the reason that I am writing for you is to get more information about your plan, for how long you're going to stay in Damascus, and the most importantly is in what season you are going to visit Syria, as most of the hotels' prices are not fixed and changing throughout the year.
Anyhow, as you already know, Damascus is the oldest capital city worldwide, thus, most of its sightseeing has historical taste. For example, Al-Hamidia Souq is an open market which has plenty of handmade craft shops. Another spectacular place is called Omia Meuseum which's Contain many heritage paints and old tools which belong to Assyrian people. Finally, as far as I know, you are spending too much time in libraries, therefore, I recommend you to visit Al-Assad National library, as it has a unique and attractive books which's not found anywhere.
Guess what?! you will really enjoy Syrian cuisines, you really must try them. I would love to suggest several restaurant that make original Syrian meals. First of all, you should try Tabouleh in AST restaurant which's near the Blue Tower in the downtown. Afterward, I also recommend to try Sous drink in ERE snack which's beside the Roam Castle in Bab Touma.
Let me know if you need anything else,
Take care
Bilal
