Essay topics: You successfully passed a job interview. You are expected to start on November 15, but you will not be available on that date.
Task: Write a letter to your new boss, explaining your situation, expressing your concern and suggesting solutions.

Dear Sir,

I recently cleared a job interview of your esteemed company and its my great fortune that I get a chance to work with you. The purpose of mine to pen down this epistle is to apologise you for not coming on the joining day because of some personal issues.

As, I am the only son of my parents and unfortunately my mother had an accident, yesterday. However, she is out of danger but doctors recommended her to take appropriate rest for at least two weeks because of the critical situation. Therefore, I have to take care of her, so that she will recover properly.

To be honest, I feel so guilty because I am unable to attend the first day of joining. My joining date is probably 15 November and because of my mother accident I will not able to come at that day. Indeed, I am so excited for that job, as it was the dream of mine to work at your organisation and now it comes true.

My mother takes only 2 weeks to recover and after that I will definitely come at work. Although, it takes four days more after 15 November but assure you that I will work diligently to make sure the breakthroughs of our company. I would be very grateful if you give me some time by extending my joining date for days later instead of 15th November.

I look forward to hear from you.

Yours faithfully,
Amn
