Even though globalization affects the world’s economies in a very positive way, its negative side should not be forgotten. Discuss

Although it is sometimes thought that the world economy is greatly benefited by the globalization, others think we should always remember it was also disadvantaging at many fronts. In my opinion, I consider that it impacted positively by strengthening the economy and changing the general perspectives.

On the one hand, some people think that globalization helped the world economy to boom and I agree. In other words, when globalization happened countries opened up for foreign investments and let the foreign company set up their business on their own soil which consequently, resulted in the creation of high paying jobs. For example, after globalization, demand engineers and managers saw a sharp increase all over the world. Many families were pulled out of poverty and purchasing power also increased which, therefore, helped GDP to grow estimated at least two folds. Furthermore, globalization resulted in the free flow of ideas and widened the perspective of people by the introduction of new learning.

On the other hand, it is often believed that globalization also had downsides. People in some countries started forgetting their own customs and tradition and, started value other's. This had a consequence of perishing of local languages which is a threat to the nation's plight and tourism. For instance, more than half of the schools in India are English medium. Which resulted in lower knowledge of local languages. Another reason why it was considered disadvantageous is that it hurt the local businesses. The small local business was in direct competition global giants, which was not at all fair to them.

In conclusion, despite people having different views, I believe that globalization fueled the economies worldwide and broadened the minds of the general population.
