A friends of yours is thinking about applying for the same course that you did at university He she has asked for your advice about studying this subject Write a letter to your friend In your letter Give details of the course you took at the university Ex

Dear Peter,

Hope this letter finds you well. Knowing that you have an idea to study the Master of Public Health in the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), as a graduate, I may give some suggestions to you. The Master of Public Health is under the School of Public Health which belongs to the Faculty of Medicine, however, the course is not only tailor-made for healthcare professionals but also general public who worked in related field or just for own interest. You may study in this post-graduate degree either in 1-year full time or 2-year part-time mode. The first half of the course is for generally knowledge on public health and the latter half, students could choose a stream, total 5 streams available, for concentrated study.

Although there are numbers of institution provide similar course, I recommend the CUHK for your best benefit. This is because CUHK always give students more chance to practice what they have learnt than other schools. For the public health programme, candidates will be requested to have a 1-week practicum in a health centre established by the current Director of School of Public Health in China, to experience how public health techniques applies on a group of special needs people. It is worth to do so and no other universities have such arrangement.

Last, you should beware the application period. The application for CUHK always opens early than other institutions, commonly on December. When you apply, you need to submit an essay on why you interested in public health. You may prepare this before the recruitment announced.
Wish you success.

Warm Regards
Samuel
