Write a letter to the restaurant, applying for the job. In your letter:

• explain what you are currently doing

• describe your suitability for this area of work

• say when you can attend an interview

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing in reference to the advertisement that I have read in the Times newspaper yesterday about your need of a waitress. I am working in a restaurant near my campus and I am happy with my schedule and my colleagues but the later one will close for a period of 6 months for a renovation reason and I need to find an alternative job to prevent any economic issues.

First of all, let me start with my major I am currently completing my degree in hotel management and I have already attended several training in food safety .Moreover I have a 5 years’ experience in this domain so I know very well how to serve people and help them in choosing their dishes .Adding to the already mentioned I am very friendly and I have an excellent communication skills and I am flexible on days and night duties.

Attached you can find a copy of my résumé along with my cover letter. I am available for a job interview at your convenience time except for Monday & Wednesday afternoon since I have classes at the university.

Looking forward to hear from you.

Yours faithfully

Rana Kandar
