You and your family are living in rented accommodation in an English speaking country. You are not satisfied with the condition of some of the furniture.
Write a letter to your landlord. In your letter
introduce yourself
explain what is wrong with the furniture
say what action you would like the landlord to take
You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Dear Mrs Evans,

I am Emma Crixan, a tenant in your building, who rented the furnished studio apartment on the 6th floor. I moved in with my family last week and am writing to express my dissatisfaction over the furnitures of the house.

Firstly, I must mention the rooms have a really enchanting view of the gardens outside which really refreshes the mind. But while unpacking and organising the things in the apartment I found one of the shelves in the TV cabinet is broken and it is glued together with gum. The defect was not visible until I placed my books on them. I have also noticed that two of the chairs in the dining room wobbled dangerously and is unfit for use.

Next week some of our friends are coming to visit us and we would be really delighted if you could send a carpenter before then to fix the problems as the broken chairs specifically may cause an injury if someone accidentally sat on it.

We look forward to hearing the measures you will take.

Yours sincerely
Emma Crixan
