You are going to another country to study. You would like to do a part-time job while you are studying, so you want to ask a friend who lives there for some help.
Write a letter to your friend. In your letter
• give details of your study plans
• explain why you want to get a part-time job
• suggest how your friend could help you find a job
You should write at least 150 words.
Dear Sam,
I am excited to inform you that I will be moving to England, during Spring next year, as I have got admission
to pursue my 'Certified Internal Auditor' course. I am wrtitng to you to seek help to find a part
time job for me during my stay in England.
My course spans over a period of 4 months begining on 7th April next year. I am required to attend lectures
during the mornings and will have some course work to be submitted every 10 days. My evenings will
be relatively free and hence I would like to utilise this time to work. As you are aware, I am
funding the course myself and would like to have some supplementary income to fund part of the
tution fees as well as to pay for my stay whilst in England. I understand you are working for an
audit firm 'PWC' and they are looking for part-time interns. It would be great if you could
arrange to send them my resume and arrange for an interview. Having the PWC tag under work experience
will definitely add value to my resume for any future job prospects.
I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Regards,
Tommy
