You are going to another country to study. You would like to do a part-time job while you are studying, so you want to ask a friend who lives there for some help.
Write a letter to your friend. In your letter
• give details of your study plans
• explain why you want to get a part-time job
• suggest how your friend could help you find a job
You should write at least 150 words.
Dear Sam,
I am excited to inform you that I will be moving to England, during Spring next year, as I have got admission
to pursue my 'Certified Internal Auditor' course. I am writing to you to seek help to find a part
time job for me during my stay in England.
My course spans over a period of 4 months commencing on 7th April next year and is going to cost me a fortune.
I am required to attend lectures during the mornings and will have some course work to be submitted every 10 days. My evenings will
be relatively free. Hence I would like to utilise this time to work. As you are aware, I am
funding the course myself and would like to have some supplementary income to fund part of the
tution fees as well as my stay whilst in England. I understand you are working for an
audit firm 'PWC' and they are looking for part-time interns. It would be great if you could
arrange to send them my resume and follow-up for an interview. Having the PWC tag under work experience
will definitely add value to my resume for any future job prospects.
I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Regards,
Tommy
