You are going to another country to study. You would like to do a part-time job while you are studying, so you want to ask a friend who lives there for some help. Write a letter to this friend. In your letter:
give details of your study plans
explain why you want to get a part-time job
suggest how your friend could help you find a job
Dear Nick,
I writing to inform you that I’m moving to Canada for studying in college which you recommended. A thought that I will able to study abroad in English-speaking country is making me thrilled. There are a lot of questions I want to ask you about you Canada to be much more accustomed by the time my studying begins. But there is one more important issue I want to resolve before I come.
As you know, I’ve been working in my native country, Ukraine, for the 3 years. The wages in my country is low, so I couldn’t collect enough money to pay all of the educational fees and rent. There is only one solution I found – I need to get a job.
Obviously, there is no possibility for me to get a full-time job, since I need a lot of time for my educational process. However, I want to find a decent part-time working position to be able to cover all of my studying fees and vital bills.
I remember your father is an engineer in the local factory. Could you please ask him about any free working position that suits me? If no, I would ask you about another favor. There are a lot of local magazines in your region. Could you please buy a few of them and give me some employers’ telephone numbers? I think, I will figure it out.
Thank you in advance for considering my problem. I’m looking forward for your answer!
Your sincerely,
Givi.
