You have been living in a rental apartment for the past year. Recently a new neighbour moved in and has been making a lot of noise, which disturbs you.
Write a letter to the landlord. In your letter:
• explain the situation
• describe why it bothers you
• suggest a solution
Write at least 150 words.
You do NOT need to write any address.
Dear Mrs. Methew,
I am writing this letter to highlight a problem of noise coming from the apartment upstairs. It has become unbearable now, and I hope that it can be stopped.
Mr.John, who has recently moved in, is very much fond of loud music. He does not only play music in high volume during day time but also at night. I requested him to slow down the volume several times, but he does not pay heed to my requests. It feels as if the music is playing beside my ears which has caused me headache all the time.
In this situation, I find it hard to concentrate on my work since I work from home. Last week, I could not complete my assignment on time because I was not feeling well due to inadequate sleep at night. It is crucial for me to get sound sleep at night so that I could carry out my work as per schedule.
In order to eradicate the issue, I request you to ask Mr. John to use headphones while listening to music in loud volume. It would not make a noise to me, and he can enjoy music as well. I hope that you would agree to my suggestion.
I look forward to taking a peaceful sleep tonight.
Yours sincerely,
Hima Jony.
