You have an evening class and your teacher gave you an essay to work on for the weekend. However, you were not able to finish the essay. Write a letter saying the following: - outline the subject of your essay - what happened why you did not finish it - tell what you will do to finish it.
Dear Sir,
I am Rahul Krishnan, your student from the evening batch of ESL (English as Secondary Language). Last weekend, you gave us to write an essay on ‘Rote learning as opposed to Meaningful learning’. I am writing this letter to express my inability to complete the essay on time.
The topic which you have given is not that difficult, but I could not find enough matter to write. Since I was feeling under the weather and having an acute headache. I could not go to the library and was not able to search the internet for the content. However, I managed to get some reference book, but I strongly feel that was not enough for the content. So, I was not able to finish the essay.
So I request you to spare two more days for me so that I can have a better look into the library reference and shall surf on the net to write a really nice essay. I am very keen on learning how to write good essays. I shall try my level best to submit my essay in another couple of days.
I hope for a kind consideration from you regarding this matter!
Yours faithfully
RK
