Dear Jay,

First of all, thank you for responding to my letter. I am a bit surprised at your question about major news stories which all of the media is covering nowadays but I will apprise you the most hyped news story in my country.

The general elections of the national assembly are scheduled to be held in the mid of next month and there is quite hustle and bustle in every constituency. The prospective candidates are using every means of the media to persuade voters to vote in their favour so that they can be elected as a member of the upper house. Most prominently used media for the election campaign is electronic media and the contestants appearing in the news with all the problems or their vision for their respective locality.

Few candidates, who do not belong to the affluent class are resorting to a low-cost medium for disseminating of their agenda. All the media including TV, newspaper, or radio holding special transmissions to present the comparative performance of outgoing cabinet members versus the goals of aspiring candidates.

I am supporting the conservative party this time as other the party could not deliver to their promises, even being in the office for two consecutive terms.

I will keep you posted after the election on the results.
