You read an article in a newspaper about a city/town. Some of the information in that article is wrong. Write a letter to the newspaper editions.
In your letter, you should:
describe how you know the city/town
tell what the problems are
suggest what you want the editor to do.
Respected Sir,
I intend to write this letter to grab your attention for an important and immediate rectification against an article published yesterday. I have read an article in your newspaper about the old walled city of Lahore and found incorrect information. I have lived in that town for almost 15 years and I am fully aware of its whereabouts and history. I certainly have some emotional associations with that place and cannot hold myself back to request you for the rectification.
In the article it is mentioned that the walled city was built in 1905 by the Mughal emperor Shah Jehan Zafar, however, the actual year was 1904 by the emperor called Babar. Moreover, it is also stated wrong that it took 9 years for the main building to be constructed for the emperor however, the actual years it took were 11.
It is quite important that people should know correct information about these historically enriched towns, therefore, request you to please write a letter of explanation with an intimation of rectifying the correct information in the newspaper tomorrow referring to the article no. at your earliest. I would be obliged if my request is catered to priority.
Looking forward to your outright response on this matter.
Yours Truly,
Sam
